HAMILTON manufactures 2-pole and 4-pole conductivity sensors.
2-pole conductivity sensors are suited for measurements in clean solutions. contamination, e.g. by lime, will affect the measurement.
4-pole conductivity sensors consist of two current and two voltage electrodes. Between the two current electrodes there is a constant electric current. The two voltage electrodes measure a voltage drop across the measured sample, which depends on the conductivity of the sample. Because of this measuring principle, 4-pole sensors have a much broader linear measurement range and are not sensitive to contamination.

Conductivity Standards

HAMILTON's conductivity standards cover the range from 1,3 to 12 880 µS/cm, whose stability of ± 1 % is guaranteed over a life cycle of up to 3 years.
HAMILTON is the first manufacturer to offer conductivity standards in the lower range of 1,3 and 5 µS/cm with a certified accuracy of ± 1 %, and a life time of 1 and 3 years respectively.
In order to ensure the accuracy of the conductivity standards a representative number of bottles from each manufactured batch are measured by the DFM (Danish Institute of Fundamental Metrology). The DFM value is recorded on the calibration certificate and on each bottle. The DFM enjoys the highest prestige in Europe in the area of electrolytic conductivity.

Armatures
HAMILTON's sensor armatures cover a wide spectrum:
Standard armatures suitable for VARIVENT sanitary, TriClamp or weld-in socket process connections.
Pressurizable armatures for applications where high accuracy or long-term stability is required in conjunction with liquid electrolyte electrodes. Such electrodes must be pressurized to ensure flow of the electrolyte solution.
Retractable armatures allows the user to withdraw the sensor while the process is running (i.e. for cleaning, calibration or even to replace the sensor), without interrupting the process.

For mobile liquid analyses KNICK has developed the pioneering Portamess® Series for pH/Redox, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. These meters combine accuracy and flexibility of a laboratory meter with an enclosure design specially developed for field application.
