Amperometrical dissolved oxygen sensors are based on the Clark's principle. HAMILTON's amperometric sensors offer a short response time of 30 to 60 seconds. Maintenance is rarely necessary due to the improved design of the sensor. The construction of the electrode guarantees excellent performance even after 100 sterilizations without the need for maintenance. The sensitivity to flow speed is negligible. The stabilization time is less than 15 minutes.
HAMILTON's DO sensors can measure down to 1ppb up to saturation or 0,012 % - 200 % of air oxygen.

Optical DO sensors
With its optical dissolved oxygen sensor VISIFERM, HAMILTON is the first company to offer self-contained oxygen measurement in the popular 12 mm format similar to standard process pH electrodes. Combined in the VISIFERM sensor shaft are: high-temperature-resistant optical electronics, microprocessor, 4 - 20 mA analogue output, digital RS 485 interface with ModBus protocol, and an Electro-Chemical Sensor (ECS) interface. Use of the 4 - 20 mA output or the RS 485 interface makes an external measurement amplifier unnecessary, allowing measurement signals to be fed directly into a process control system.

Armatures
HAMILTON's sensor armatures cover a wide spectrum:
Standard armatures suitable for VARIVENT sanitary, TriClamp or weld-in socket process connections.
Pressurizable armatures for applications where high accuracy or long-term stability is required in conjunction with liquid electrolyte electrodes. Such electrodes must be pressurized to ensure flow of the electrolyte solution.
Retractable armatures allows the user to withdraw the sensor while the process is running (i.e. for cleaning, calibration or even to replace the sensor), without interrupting the process.

Portable Dissolved Oxygen Meter

For mobile liquid analyses KNICK has developed the pioneering Portamess® Series for pH/Redox, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. These meters combine accuracy and flexibility of a laboratory meter with an enclosure design specially developed for field application.
In practice, the unit convinces with a multitude of details: the protective cover with short instructions, the integrated quiver for storing the electrode, the water-proof enclosure, and many more. As an extraordinary feature, the Portamess is optionally available in Ex-proof, it can measure in Zone 0 locations.
In addition to a basic unit (911 Oxy), a unit with real-time clock, data storage, and interface to PC is provided (913 Oxy)
